August Out Stoli Party!

It has been an incredible year here in Chicago. The energy and effort so many people are putting back in to making the nightlife scene the vibrant and booty-shaking extravaganza it was a decade ago is paying off and I am proud to be a small part of the rebirth. It is such an honor to be in a community that (for the most part) actually works together to create a bigger picture of fun for the masses. There are only a few promoters in the LGBT community here and most of us actually talk with one another about scheduling our events wisely so they do not compete with one another. Ground breaking stuff, I know. DJ’s, themes, times, decorations, sponsorships, venues—all of it is shared with each other and supported by each other so that everyone has a shot at success on their night or nights. There is no way my Revolution events would be as successful without the support from the “other” guys, and for that I am grateful.

As the recipient of the “Stoli and OUT Magazine NIGHTHAWK” title for Chicago, for the second year in a row, OUT and Stoli have generously supported my efforts here in the Midwest and not only given me great exposure to the masses, but they recently threw a fantastic party to celebrate Chicago nightlife and all the people that populate our dance floors, charity events, bars, street festivals and city. Like last year, Sidetrack was the gracious location that served up the drinks plus took my very eclectic music video playlist for the event and gave the 300+ guests an aural bed of fabulous tracks to sip away the night enjoying special Stoli Salted Caramel cocktails and watching the sexy models show off the best of the fall season fashions from my friends at CRAM in boystown. This recognition is to be shared by ALL the movers and shakers in Chicago’s resurgence of the nightlife we love, need and desire. AK Miller, Marc “Moose” Moder, Shawn Hazen, Anthony DiFiore, Dusty Carpenter, Chuck Hyde, the “QUEENS” of Smart Bar and so many more. A sincere thank you to everyone that comes out to support these crazy ideas we all try to bring to life event after event, week after week, holiday after holiday. I truly appreciate the opportunity to do exactly what I love day after day and all of you help make it possible. Humbled and honored.

So, now it is time to move into fall and all the excitement it brings. Halloween is our next big event in Chicago, and we are working hard to make “CIRCUS! Revolution Under The Big Top” our best party yet. The “Superhero Revolution” is coming to Chicago’s Market Days 2012!

CircuitMOM Productions is hard at work preparing to transform the House Of Blues into a Saturday night Revolution party like no other. We have done “Wild West”, “Zombie”, “Pride”, “Neon” and “IML Victory” parties, but we are most excited about our “Superhero” theme for Market Days. Last years’ sold out Market Days event has us amped up and ready to make this year bigger and better than ever.

Armed with his trusted CDJ 2000 CD players, powerful headphones, stealth collection of custom remixes and super human talent, DJ Joe Gauthreaux returns to save you from the chaos of the street fair and is ready to spin you and your cape into a frenzy with his almost 7 hour set. Neon Revolution is proud to debut the hotness of DJ Serving Ovahness making his Chicago debut at Metro!

Meet DJ Serving Ovahness!

Serving Ovahness is one of the newest names in the DJ club scene. It is through a combination of hard work, perseverance, skill and his study of major house music DJs that has helped him take on this new endeavor of developing music. Brian is determined in creating a new chapter in music that focuses on bringing the beats and making his listeners dance for hours on end.

Hailing from New York City, Brian came of age during New York City’s golden age of clubbing in the ‘90s. “My first mega club was Twilo in 2000,” Brian recalls. “It was one of biggest clubs in New York City at that time. I was speechless watching Junior Vasquez create magic on that dancefloor while taking his listeners on a musical journey every step of the way.”

“I want my music to be like a staircase where the sound progresses and elevates. The next track always better and bigger than the previous one, to keep everyone on the dance floor for hours. I am very creative person when mixing live; I play with a lot of effects, loops, acapellas, and mash-ups. I enjoy making my own exclusive mash-ups, and look forward to sharing a lot of my unreleased material in the coming year.”

Brian constantly works on creating and reinventing music, including his monthly soundcloud episodes that are quickly climbing the ranks of listeners in the club scene. Serving Ovahness is ready to deliver a driving progressive tribal house sound that will take you on a journey and keep you dancing all night long.

IML Victory Party Opening Number

From ZERO to SIXTY in the ten seconds it takes to open the curtain at Chicago’s famed House Of Blues, the 10th Anniversary of The Victory Party takes off with DJ Eddie Martinez making his Chicago debut to the sold out audience. The custom LED wall designed by Jim Goodall from RGB Lighting and programmed by Scott from RGB was 14′ high by 30′ wide and kept people visually stimulated almost as much as our 6 amazing go go boys in their white full body suits (which we graciously stripped them out of mid set). The next 5 hours were off the charts thanks to Eddie’s music, the awesome IML crowd and the sound and lighting teams from House Of Blues and RGB. Stay tuned for more pictures!

Sidetrack Beach Bash

It was time to get a little sprung with a sexy bathing suit fashion show at Chicago’s amazing Sidetrack Video Bar on March 28. CRAM Fashion (3331 N. Broadway) provided the suits and I provided the men to fill them. A sweet and sexy way to head into April with a packed house and a fun island themed video playlist. See something you like? The 35th Annual Gay Softball World Series (GSWS) hits Chicago for 8 days of tournaments and bar events this week. This years tournament plays host to teams representing 41 US and Canadian cities in 4 divisions making it the worlds largest LGBT annual sporting event. The opening ceremonies were held in the grand ballroom of Chicago’s historic Navy Pier with a record number of players and fans showing up to party and be entertained by author (“My Life On The Pink Carpet”) and Emmy winning actor Leslie Jordon (“Will & Grace”), RuPaul’s Drag Race break out star, Pandora Boxx and International Rugby Superstar and straight ally Ben Cohen, who’s “StandUP Foundation, Inc” is dedicated to fight bullying against all kids, LGBT included. It’s an honor to DJ for this historic event and while looking out over the 2000+ attendee’s, I was very proud of the GSWS team that worked tirelessly for over 2 years to make this jam-packed week happen. I have met many men from around the country and Canada this week so far and let’s just say I am definitely an athletic supporter.

Summertime in Chicago is intense and extremely busy with concerts, festivals and events such as our Revolution parties, so there is no shortage of entertainment options. When we are fortunate enough to add a massive national event to our social calendars, it only amps up these Midwest boys to show off our amazing city and all it has to offer. Thank you, GSWS for working so hard to showcase Chicago and inviting me to be a part of this great organization and phenomenal week!

Balls, Pitchers, and Catchers OH MY!

In the haze of post Market Days chaos, we packed up our cowboy hats and Indian headdresses and look to 35^th annual Gay Softball World Series hitting Chicago next week for 6 days of tournaments, parties and events. (You can insert your own bad jokes about bats, balls, pitchers and catchers on your own). Chicago is a city well known for its championship sports teams like the Bulls and Blackhawks as much as it’s loveable losers…the Cubs. In 2006, the city expertly rolled out the big gay striped carpet for the official Gay Games and welcomed over 100,000 visitors and athletes, so it only seems natural we would host 4000 softball players and throw a party or two in their honor.

The opening ceremonies on Monday, August 29, are being held at Chicago’s famed grand ballroom of Navy Pier with appearances by the hilarious Leslie Jordon, author of “My Life On The Pink Carpet” and Karen Walkers nemesis on “Will & Grace”. RuPaul’s muse and former contestant Pandora Boxx and a wildly popular friend and advocate of the LGBT community, Rugby superstar Ben Cohen round out the stellar first night. . I am beyond excited to be the DJ for this massive event and am looking forward to kicking off the week with some hot beats and good times to our cities guests.

Ben Cohen is also bringing his message of support and compassion to Sidetrack on Tuesday, August 30, where he will be auctioning off special items (like the clothes off his back…) to raise money for his foundation “Stand Up With Ben Cohen”. There is a photo shoot scheduled with Ben while he is here and I have been asked to be the stylist for the project. GLADLY!

In true Chicago summertime tradition, the city is blocking off a very busy section of boystown on Saturday, September 3, for the closing ceremonies. An outdoor dance party with DJ Bill Bennett will be a perfect way to wrap up an amazing week of softball madness and show our out of towners how Chicago does summer. Chicago’s Nighthawks Flock to Sidetrack.

Starry, starry night. A very hot and humid Wednesday night in Chicago was never more sexy and full of energy than last week when OUT Magazine, Stoli and Sidetrack Video Bar hosted the swanky “NIGHTHAWKS” party. I am humbled and honored to have been chosen by OUT to represent this great city, plus the generosity shown to the guests by Stoli and Sidetrack was truly amazing. Over 300 people showed up to enjoy the full range of Stoli products, including Sidetracks world famous frozen Stoli Pink Lemonade. We arranged for 4 of Chicago’s hottest models to show off their…um…best features in an informal fashion show showcasing RUFSKIN brand under and slightly outerwear which was graciously organized and provided by CRAM FASHION in boystown. The custom music video play list we designed for the night covered everything from Adele to 30 Second To Mars, Pitbull, Whitney and all the way over to Goldfrapp and Nikki Minaj. Top it off with a stunning performance by Chicago’s gorgeous Aurora Sexton giving J-Lo a run for her money “On The Floor” (complete with standard issue diva wind machine) and it was a wild and provocative cocktail party for the record books.

The night would not have been a success without the hard work of OUT, Stoli, the Nighthawk team and of course everyone here in Chicago that continues to support these insane ideas we come up with. The real winner here in this scenario is me. Without the generosity, time commitment and willingness to help from so many people to make ideas come to life and events happen, there would not be Circuit MOM Productions. It was very strange to have people congratulating me on the Nighthawks honor and successful evening when in fact, it is because of them and you out there that continue to show up and have fun that these fun times exist. For that, I thank all of you and congratulate you on keeping Chicago’s nightlife alive and as exciting as ever. Now, on to the next event!

Out Magazine Nighthawk Party

How amazing is it that Stoli, OUT Magazine and Sidetrack Video Bar are joining forces to throw my Chicago people a hot and sexy summer party on Wednesday, July 27! Since I am the first scheduled NIGHTHAWK party of the 5 cities and promoters featured on OUT.com, the pressure is on for me to set the bar pretty high with music, visuals and a hot crowd. Good news is, that’s not a problem in the greatest city in the world. I look forward to celebrating summer Chicago style with my friends as we take over Sidetrack for a Wednesday night throw down and live it up NIGHTHAWK style. The Stoli will flow, the diva videos will glow and there will be plenty of sexy surprises to keep this soiree glamorously stylish. All those in the know will be front and center for one spectacular party. Put on your cocktail party best and get ready dance, drink and mingle with the hottest crowd in boystown. Chicago rocks!
