Ben Cohen Chicago Photoshoot

I had the honor of working as one of the stylists on photographer Bret Grafton’s fashion shoot with International Rugby superstar Ben Cohen while he was in town as a guest speaker for the Gay Softball World Series (GSWS). Mr. Cohen (a straight, professional athlete and ally to the LGBT community with the mission to stop anti-gay bullying of kids) was beyond charming and incredibly welcoming to work with. He had a very busy schedule during his four day stay in Chicago with endless TV and event appearances, charity events, a rugby exhibition game, featured key note speaker at the GSWS opening ceremonies, two photo shoots, countless press interviews and finally his wildly successful “StandUP Foundation Charity Auction” at Sidetrack to raise money to combat bullying of any kind towards anyone. His professionalism, class and “everyman” attitude far exceeded any expectation one could imagine. (Not to mention he is extremely handsome and genuine…with that British accent!). I am proud to have “The StandUP Foundation, Inc” as the benefactor from tickets sales to our “REVOLUTION” dance party events held at Chicago’s House Of Blues, who has generously donated $1500 as a token of their beginning support. As our REVOLUTION events grow in size and attendance, House OF Blues will be able to donate more money to this worthwhile cause and in 2012, could very well be a major corporate sponsor to help combat bullying worldwide through Ben’s foundation. Every REVOLUTION ticket sold will get us closer to that goal.
